Location Occurred: 2100 block of 23 Ave N
Circumstances: On the Evening of July 26, 1980 Melinda Harder decided to walk to her boyfriend's residence in the area of 17th Street and 20th Ave North. Melinda never made it to her boyfriend's home and was reported as a missing person. On March 2, 1989 her remains were found at Maximo Park

Susan Crandall

Susan Crandall

Date Occurred: 09/14/73
Location Occurred: Area of 22 Avenue and 6 Street North
Circumstances: Sixteen year old Susan Crandall was last seen alive attending a party with friends at Crescent Lake located at 22 Ave and 6th Street North. Friends saw Crandall walking away from the party alone stating she was going to retrieve her purse from a friends residence and she would return to the party. Susan never made to the friends residence. Susan Crandall's body was found on October 13, 1973 in a wooded area off of 26 Avenue and 34 Street South

Date Occurred: 05/11/71
Location Occurred: 738 13 Street North
Circumstances: Four black males were seen in the area of the victim’s residence carrying yard rakes as if to do yard work. At least one of the suspects went into the victim’s residence. A shot was heard inside the residence and a witness observed all four suspects fleeing from the area

Location Occurred: 4200 34 St S
Circumstances: On October 31st, 1969, two St. Petersburg Police officers found a black steamer trunk in a wooded area behind a restaurant at 4200 34th Street South. When they opened the trunk, they discovered a woman's body wrapped in a large plastic bag. The victim had visible injuries to her head and had been strangled with a man's Western-style Bolo tie. She was partially clothed in a pajama top.
