The mission of the St. Petersburg Police Information and Technology Services Division is to provide direction, research, technical knowledge, training and operational support to all computer related applications and hardware within or affecting the department. The Division's Mission Statement is "Serving Those Who Serve."
The Information and Technology Services Division supports over 500 desktop computers and peripheral equipment, 450 mobile computers and in-vehicle docking and GPS systems, a large scale fiber optic network and wireless data communication system. The Division is responsible for the operation and performance of all police operating systems and compliance with County, State and Federal requirements.
The Division is responsible for the assessment, planning, design, procurement and/or development, implementation and support of:
- Technology Hardware and Software
- Network and Telecommunication Infrastructure
- Applications
- Network interfaces with external agencies
