Crime Prevention

The St. Petersburg Police Department, works with neighborhoods, community groups, and businesses to establish Neighborhood Watch programs.

The police department works to make the community safer through the quality education seminars we provide to all neighborhood associations and civic associations in the city. We teach people how to recognize and report crime in their neighborhoods or around your businesses. We conduct FREE residential and business security assessments to show people how make their homes and businesses more secure. We offer seminars on a wide variety of crime topics.

The police department, works to ensure compliance with the Florida Convenience Business Security Act, and administers security assessments to convenience stores within the city under the auspice of the Florida Attorney General's Office.

We believe that through education the community becomes a safer place for everyone.
