September 27th, 2026, at 12:05 a.m., a silver Kia Spectra was traveling north on Park Street North at an excessive rate of speed.

The driver attempted to change lanes, lost control of the vehicle, and left the roadway. The vehicle struck a speed limit sign and utility pole, rolled over striking a telecommunications box and a tree.

The driver was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.

The investigation is currently ongoing.
