St. Petersburg police are on the scene of a body discovered in the water near Grandview Boat Ramp in the 3700 to 3800 blocks of 6th Street South.

Based on a preliminary investigation, the body is believed to be that of a 66-year-old man who was reported missing about 9 p.m. Monday.

The investigation is in its early stages and is being investigated as a possible suicide. However, the Pinellas-Pasco Medical Examiner's Office will determine the cause of death.

The investigation is ongoing.
