St. Petersburg Police detectives arrested D'eauary Thurman, for the violent attack on a man on July 6th, 2026.

On July 6th, at 6:30 a.m., the victim was lying down on a picnic table bench in Bartlett Park, 2000 7th Street South, when Thurman approached him and began to punch, kick, and stomp on the victim's face, causing serious injuries and disfigurement to his head and face.

Thurman then went through the victim's personal backpack, stealing an item before leaving the area.

The victim suffered severe injuries and remains in critical condition.

Thurman was charged with the following:

• Robbery
• Attempted Murder in the 2nd Degree
