Update: Child Death Arrest

Diana Elizabeth Cullom, was released from the hospital overnight and charged with 1st degree murder in the death of her 4-year-old son, Finley Cullom. Her booking photo is below.

Once the medical examiner examined the body, it was determined that there were no stab wounds on the child. The child had been suffocated. Diana Cullom had self-inflicted stab wounds.

Background: On 01/27/26, at about 3:30 p.m., patrol officers responded to 1760 Tanglewood Dr. NE about a report of a person bleeding.

When they arrived, they found a 16-year-old girl, who told them that when she got home from school, she found her mother holding her 4-year-old brother in a bed. There was blood at the scene and throughout the house.

The mother was transported to Bayfront Hospital due to multiple lacerations. Her injuries were not life-threatening.

This is still an active investigation. The scene is still being processed this morning.

Child Death Update

At 3:30 p.m. , Officers responded to a call of a deceased child and a woman found injured inside a home at 1760 Tanglewood Dr. NE.

The child, Finley Joseph Cullom , age four, had been stabbed.

His mother was transported to the hospital and is in stable condition this evening. Her injuries are not considered life-threatening.

No one else was home at the time and there is no reason to believe there is any danger to the community.

This is an active investigation and no other details will be released this evening.

Officers responded to a call of two people found dead inside at home at 1760 Tanglewood Dr. NE. One of the deceased is a young child.

No other details are available at this time. PIO is en route to the scene.
