In 2025, St. Petersburg recorded the lowest number of homicides, 10, since 1967, when the City had six homicides! That's 44% lower than last year (18) and 44% lower than the five-year average. The statistics were reported as part of the FBI's Uniform Crime Reporting (UCR) data for 2025.
Total crime in general was down 16% in 2025.
"I'm pleased that the hard work of our officers and detectives, along with the use of the latest crime-fighting technology, is paying offand the numbers prove it," said Anthony Holloway, Chief of Police.
Also, auto thefts are down 29% and fatal crashes are down 31%.
