Command Review Board Convened

Chief Anthony Holloway convened a Command Review Board to review allegations that Officer Brandon Klaiber shared confidential information from Police databases.

Summary:
Late last year the Florida Department of Law Enforcement notified the St. Petersburg Police Department of potential criminal violations involving Officer Klaiber for sharing protected information from law enforcement databases with one of their suspects. On April 15th, 2025, Pinellas Sheriff's Deputies arrested Officer Klaiber and charged him with two counts of offenses against intellectual property. He was placed on administrative leave without pay.

On February 23rd, 2026, Brandon Klaiber resigned from the St. Petersburg Police Department. (Klaiber was sworn as a St. Petersburg Officer in November 2008)

The Command Review Board reviewed his case today, February 24th, 2026, and determined that if Klaiber had not resigned, he would have been terminated. He was found guilty of the following department violations:

  1. City of St. Petersburg Rules and Regulations of the Personnel Management System, Group III, #26, To wit:
    "Unlawful or improper conduct either on or off the job, which an employee knows or reasonably should know could negatively affect the employee's relationship to the job, fellow workers, reputation, or goodwill in the community."
  2. City of St. Petersburg Rules and Regulations of the Personnel Management System Group III, #31, To Wit:
    "Violation of a City or departmental rule which is considered within the Group III level for overall seriousness, nature, and significance of the misconduct."
