The driver, Brett McClelland, now has upgraded charges of:

-Vehicular Homicide

-Reckless Driving Causing Serious Bodily Injury

-Felony DUI 3rd Offense

A Petersburg man, Brett McClelland, was arrested for DUI manslaughter and DUI causing serious bodily injury after a deadly head on collision.

Wednesday , September 24th, at 6:30 p.m., McClelland was driving a Subaru Outback westbound in the 7800 block of 38th Avenue North, when he swerved into oncoming traffic.

He struck an eastbound black Toyota sedan in a head on collision. The Toyota driver was seriously injured and his passenger, Angel Shihate, died of her injuries at the hospital.

McClelland was also treated for injuries and found to be under the influence and arrested.

This is still an ongoing investigation.
