Suspect: Jamal Black
Charges: Murder in the 2nd degree and four counts of violation of felony probation
Today, detectives arrested Jamal Black, for the homicide of Tyrone Howard on September 7th, 2025. Booking photo and affidavit are attached.
On that day, shortly after 2 p.m., a vehicle crashed into a parked car at Robco Transmission & Auto, 3101 Emerson Avenue South.
When rescue arrived, it was determined that the driver, Tyrone Howard, suffered a gunshot wound near the 2900 block of Emerson Avenue South. Howard was transported to Orlando Health Bayfront Hospital, where he died of his injuries.
A child, a one-year-old girl, who was also in the car, was not injured.

Shorty after 2 p.m., a vehicle crashed into a parked car at the Robco Transmission & Auto , 3101 Emerson Avenue South.
When rescue arrived , it was determined that the driver had suffered a gunshot wound. The driver, a young adult man, was transported to Orlando Health Bayfront Hospital.
A child , who was also in the car, did not appear to be injured, but was taken to Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital to be checked out.
Investigators are actively working to determine what happened. It is very early in the investigation and there is no other information to be released at this time.
