1st Degree Attempted Murder Arrest

St. Petersburg Police arrested 27-year-old Peter Guirguis and charged him with attempted first-degree homicide and aggravated stalking after he attacked his ex-girlfriend. His booking photo is below.

Detectives learned that on May 10th, at 1:43 a.m. Guirguis traveled to the victim's home at 10600 4th St. North, Gateway Isles Apts. He attacked her in the parking lot, causing a serious head injury and hospitalization.

The couple had a history of domestic violence, and the victim had an active injunction against Guirguis.

Since the attack, detectives have been working nonstop to gather evidence to arrest him.

Last night, at 11:37 p.m., St. Petersburg detectives, along with the Pasco County Sheriff's Office, took Guirguis into custody at his home in Trinity.

He'll be transferred from the Pasco County Jail to the Pinellas County Jail to face the charges.
