The victim is identified as Justin Xavier Schmitt, DOB 2-26-2001, with a home address of 4827 Haines Road North.

At 2:35 a.m., Schmitt was at his home and became involved in an argument with an acquaintance. Schmitt was stabbed and died from his injuries.

Investigators questioned a man at the scene, but at this time he has not been charged. This is still an open and ongoing investigation.

The victim, a man (adult), died at the hospital from his injuries. We will release his name once we notify family members.

Investigators believe he had a quarrel with someone known to him, that turned violent.

Police detained a man at the scene and he is being questioned at this time.

St. Petersburg Police investigators are on the scene of a stabbing. It happened at a home at 4827 Haines Rd. North.

The victim, an adult male, was transported to Bayfront Health with life-threatening injuries.
