On Thursday,September 12,Joshua Lorenzo, DOB 3-31-82, the father of a student at Perkins Elementary School, 2205 18th Avenue South, caught the attention of the School Safety Officer (School guardian). Lorenzo appeared to be carrying a weapon under his clothing while he waited outside the school for his child at dismissal.

The school called St. Petersburg Police and Officers responded and confirmed that Lorenzo was carrying a handgun under his shirt.

He was arrested for having a weapon on school grounds.
