This morning we received a call around 3:41am from a woman who said someone with a gun was threatening her. When officers arrived in the area of 7th Ave S and 19th St S, a vehicle was seen leaving the area southbound.

At 3:43am a vehicle (matching the description of the vehicle seen leaving) crashed into the Midtown Supermarket. The driver, Charles Reed (DOB 06/07/1986) was seen exiting the vehicle and fleeing the scene of the accident.

Officers caught up with him and arrested him shortly thereafter. A gun was found inside the vehicle Reed was driving.

He faces misdemeanor charges of leaving the scene of a crash involving property damage and resisting an officer without violence. He also faces a felony charge for being a felon in possession of a firearm.
